Mid-stiff Core w/ Carbon Composite Layering: Built around Vaughn's single-break, mid-stiff foam core, the VX1 PC pads offer a flexible feel below the knees, balanced by a solid thigh rise feel. Unique to Vaughn's "Pro Carbon" leg pads, a rigid carbon composite is layered over the core, ensuring strong pop and improved long-term durability without adding excess weight.

Thinned Thigh Rise w/ Stiffer Feel: To ease pad overlap and mobility, the VX1 PC pads' thigh rise features a thinner profile over their predecessor. To keep a tight 5-hole seal, these pads complement their thinner profile with a stiffer flex leading up from the knees to their bindingless top edges.

Classic Knee Roll Build w/ Single Break Outer Roll: These pads feature a mid-stiff outer roll with a single break below each knee. Vaughn's Velocity pads distinguish themselves with three flat knee rolls for a classic look while widening these pads' range of rebound response.

Wide Calf Plate w/ HD Reinforcement: The VX1 Pro Carbon pads land on a wider calf plate design, built from a rigid, high-density foam for a comfortable, yet stable landing. Wrapped in QuickSlide at the outer face, a plush cushioning backs the VX1 PC's calf plates to pad negative space in the calves, further improving comfort and pad control.

Wide, Recessed Knee Cradle: Compared to the previous V10 pads, the VX1 Pro Carbon pads feature a recessed knee cradle with a thinner top layer at the knee stack. On the ice, this gives the pads room to more-freely rotate above the calves and can accommodate a wider range of knee guards.

Direct Knee Stack-Core Integration: Integrated at the top layer, Vaughn's layered foam knee stack is built to translate knee movements directly into the pad's core. Not just improving response, Vaughn's direct knee stack integration offers improved durability compared to a laced-in knee landing and helps ensure the pads project at a proper angle.

Fit & Strapping

Streamlined, QuickSlide Boot w/ Softer Flex: Introduced with the Velocity V9 pads, Vaughn's Velocity VX1 pads feature a more ergonomic, scoop-shaped boot with a softer flex. On the ice, Vaughn's scoop-shaped boot helps the pads to rotate off of the skates faster with reduced binding. Further improving durability and rotation speed, Vaughn's QuickSlide material lines each boot.

Reactive Rotation Control Plus (RRC+) Calf Strapping: Vaughn's RRC+ calf strapping allows more accurate pad control from the goalie's calves while keeping a looser fit at the knees to improve pad rotation. Compared to the single, professor-style RRC strap found on the VX1 Pro leg pads, the VX1 Pro Carbon Pads' top and bottom RRC+ strapping allows goalies the greatest precision in their pad tuning.

Bungee Toe Ties w/ Velcro®: Compared to traditional skate lace toe ties, bungee toe ties allow for a greater range of motion in the goalie's ankle while keeping the pad properly anchored.

Carbon-reinforced T-top: Especially beneficial for goalies who tend to press down on the T, the VX1 Pro Carbon glove's carbon-reinforced T-top, keeps this glove working its best for longer with high-strength carbon inserts.

Board Construction

Molded Board Core w/ 17mm Foam: The VX1 Pro Carbon blocker is padded with 17mm (~ 2/3") of high-density impact foam to help pop pucks into the corners, sandwiched between shock-absorbing low-density foams to balance its rebound pop with a controlled precision.

Deeper Board Flare: The VX1 PC blocker builds upon the Velocity line's more directional rebound feel with a deeper board flare over the previous V10 blocker. Compared to Vaughn's SLR blockers, the Velocity board's deeper, less aggressive flare gives goalies a greater surface area for controlling rebound placement.

Carbon Reinforced Board: The V10 Pro Carbon blocker is layered with a high-strength carbon composite, maintaining the blocker's strong pop for longer without adding excess weight.
