- CCM's Axis XF leg pads are built for goalies to dominate the crease with a more rigid, flat-face design. Balancing performance with comfort, the Axis XF pads offer a shallow/looser leg channel and boot fit with highly-adjustable strapping. With CCM's Total Custom, goalies can customize the look and feel of their Axis XF leg pads through a variety of color and build options.
Pad Construction (All Configurations)- LiteXCore w/ Single Internal Break: Designed for cross-crease mobility and high velocity rebounds, the Axis XF leg pads are built around a rigid, injection-molded core with a more forgiving pre-curved shape and a single internal break below the knee.
- Infinite Power Rebound Foams: New for the Axis XF pads, CCM's IPR foams pad each LiteXCore to absorb and dampen the puck's impact, producing powerful, yet more controlled rebounds.
- Speed Channel Design: CCM debuts a tapered calf plate design along each inner gusset, maintaining butterfly stability with greatly reduced sliding friction.
- Shallow 90° Boot w/ Offset HD Toe Bridge: At the boot, CCM's shallow boot construction with a soft, 90° flex offers greater mobility at the ankles and a tighter stance. On the ice, an offset toe bridge allows the skates to fall at a more ergonomic angle in butterfly, improving edge control and helping to relieve lower body strain.
- DRS Pro (Dynamic Response System): Reinforced one-piece sliding edge with a two-piece knee stack, integrated at the bottom layer for a more direct pad response and improved long-term durability.
Pre-curved Core Options- Single Inner & Outer Break: Standard for CCM's EFLEX pads, a soft, pre-curved core, with internal and outer roll breaks below the knee. For goalies who prefer a bit more flex in the thigh.
- Single Inner, No Outer Break (Stock): Stock, the Axis XF pads are built around a pre-curved core with a single internal break to allow for a tight stance and keep a tight 5-hole seal.
Core Padding Options- Infinite Power Rebound (Stock): Stock, the Axis XF pads' LiteXCore is padded with CCM's IPR foams for strong rebounds with a bit more flex throughout the pad.
- Max Rebound+: Familiar to fans of the Axis 2 pads, CCM's Max Rebound+ option is for goalies who prefer an extra stiff pad with dense, springy foams to maximize rebound velocity.
Knee Strapping Options- DRS Pro Strap (Stock): CCM's adjustable knee strap design allows goalies to choose their preferred fit: Behind the knee to the removable knee wing, down and across to the calf wrap, or entirely removed.
- DRS Pro w/ Fixed Leather Strap: Includes fixed leather strap, runs from the bottom of the knee stack to just above the outer calf wrap.
Leg Channel & Calf Strapping Options- Tight Fit Leg Channel w/ QMSS 2 Strapping: Implements the same QMSS 2 strapping as stock with a tighter, more controlled fit at the calves.
- Tight Fit w/ Traditional Leather Strapping: Stock leg channel fit, replaces QMSS 2 strap with leather strapping at the upper and lower calves.
- Loose Fit w/ QMSS 2 Strapping (Stock): Stock, the Axis XF pads prioritize rotation speed, securing around the calves with a looser, more open leg channel. Complemented by CCM's Quick Motion Strap System 2, a molded 3D grip strap secures across and down the upper calf. On the ice, CCM's QMSS 2 gives the pads a multi-point sense of control, and allows goalies to fine-tune the pad's rotation.
- Loose Fit w/ Traditional Leather Strapping: Looser leg channel fit, replaces QMSS 2 strap with leather strapping at the upper and lower calves.
Toe Tie & Options- Offset HD Foam Toe Bridge w/ Hybrid Bungee Ties (Stock): CCM's hybrid bungee toe ties secure each boot with more give over skate lace toe ties, but less give than full-bungee toe ties when pushing off the posts. In combination with an offset toe bridge, CCM's hybrid laces allow the goalie's skates a greater range of motion for precision edge control with greatly reduced lower body strain.
- Offset HD Foam Toe Bridge w/ Skate Lace Ties: Allows the skates to fall closer to the ice with a more static hold between the pads and skates.
Boot Strap Options- No Boot Strap (Stock): Allows the pads to rotate off the skate faster and offers greater mobility in the ankles.
- Under Heel Leather Strap: Traditional under heel boot strap for goalies that want the pads snug to their skates.
