Build

LITECORE™ Board w/ High-density Padding: The Axis XF blocker is built around CCM's LITECORE blocker board, a highly-rigid injection-molded board core to pop pucks into the corners without adding excess weight.

Centered Palm: Complementing the Axis XF blocker's lightened board, a centered palm position balances its lightweight board over the center of the hand. On the ice, its centered palm position further reduces rotational resistance for effortless and precise positioning.

Feel & Mobility

FLEXMOTION Cuff: Carried over from CCM's Axis 2 blocker, the Axis XF blocker's dense cuff/wrist padding are arranged into three flexible segments with hook-and-loop anchors to tighten or open up the cuff.

Pro-Style Nash® Palm w/ Embossed Suede: A plush, moisture-resistant palm provides improved long-term durability with an added embossed suede layering to lock in with a high-tack feel.

Hand Protection

HD Finger Protection w/ D3O® Smart Material: To ensure confident protection against stray pucks and sticks, the Axis XF blocker protects the fingers with high-density foam finger blocks and a layer of reactive D3O® smart material for the index finger. Found frequently in high-end motorcycle gear, D3O® Smart Material tightens its molecular structure as force is applied; hardening on impact to absorb and redirect impact energies, while remaining more pliable at rest.

Molded X-Stiff Sidewall: CCM's Axis XF features a rigid injection-molded sidewall, both improving side protection and reducing flex between the blocker board and sidewall.

591 Break: Introduced with the Axis 2 glove, CCM carries over their form-fitting take on the popular 590 break angle. The Axis XF glove's cuff and palm are shaped to project a wide pocket and break with a smooth, whole-handed closure.

Fit & Personalization

Form Fit System w/ Index & Pinky Loops: Introduced with the Axis 2 glove, CCM's unique, heat-activated form fit system replaces traditional finger stalls at the middle and ring fingers with a heat-moldable embossed suede. Designed for a personalized fit, CCM's form fit inner palm molds to the goalie's unique hand shape through oven thermoforming or more organically, after a few skates.

Cross Form Strap: Offering 4 points of adjustment across the back of the hand, CCM's plush, X-shaped cross form strap allows for a snug fit without needing to lock down the goalie's wrist. Familiar to fans of the Axis 2 glove, the Axis XF glove's cross form strap allows for precise positioning with an overall more agile feel from the wrist.

AX Suede w/ SureGrip Palm: The Axis XF glove is lined with a durable, high-tack AX Suede embossed with a SureGrip texture. Even through the longest practices, CCM's embossed suede lining helps to manage moisture and ensure confident control over the glove.

CCM's Axis XF leg pads are built for goalies to dominate the crease with a more rigid, flat-face design. Balancing performance with comfort, the Axis XF pads offer a shallow/looser leg channel and boot fit with highly-adjustable strapping.

Core Construction

LiteXCore w/ Single Internal Break: Designed for cross-crease mobility and high velocity rebounds, the Axis XF leg pads are built around a stiff, LiteXCore with a more forgiving pre-curved shape and a single internal break below the knee.

Infinite Power Rebound Foams: New for the Axis XF pads, CCM's IPR foams pad each LiteXCore to absorb and dampen the puck's impact, producing powerful, yet more controlled rebounds.

Fit

DRS Pro (Dynamic Response System): Reinforced one-piece sliding edge with a two-piece knee stack, integrated at the bottom layer for a more direct pad response and improved long-term durability.

DRS Pro Strap: CCM's adjustable knee strap design allows goalies to choose their preferred fit: Behind the knee to the removable knee wing, down and across to the calf wrap, or entirely removed.

Quick Motion Strap System 2 (QMSS 2): CCM's dynamic, Y-strap upper calf strapping secures the XF pads with a molded, 3D grip material and adjustable tension. On ice, CCM's QMSS 2 strapping with molded 3D grip provides multi-point control over the pads, while also allowing goalies to more finely tune pad rotation.

Mobility

Speed Channel Design: CCM debuts a tapered calf plate design along each inner gusset, maintaining butterfly stability with greatly reduced sliding friction.

Hybrid Toe Ties: Hybrid bungee toe ties secure each boot with more give over traditional skate lace toe ties, but less give than bungee toe ties when pushing off the posts.

Shallow 90° Boot w/ Offset HD Toe Bridge: Offset toe bridge allows the skates to fall at a more ergonomic angle in butterfly, improving edge control and helping to relieve lower body strain. Shallow, 90° boot helps the pads to sit higher on the skates for quicker pad rotation with reduced binding.
